Another favourite scramble that’s sure to raise a few hairs on the neck. As you walk up the Sharp Edge ridge you have a steep gradient that slopes away from you in places up to 400ft, with Scales tarn on your left. Some claim its terrifying, others say it invokes excitement, either way it is sure to be an unforgettable experience. When you get to the top of the ridge you have a short walk to the summit of Blencathra with fantastic views over towards Keswick, Eden Valley and over to the coast with Scotland in the distance. If you have done the Striding Edge ridge on Helvellyn people compare Sharp Edge to this.
