Kinniside stone circle
Situated in one of the wilder areas of the lakes, this stone circle lies just off the edge of the main Lakes 100 route around 50 feet off to the road. This winding fell road is a stretch that has beautiful views over the coast towards Scotland. Huge horses roam on the surrounding fells and are often wondering on and beside the roads, a pretty sight, these belong to the local horse riding club, so take caution.
The circle was dug up to use as fence posts in the 1800s but later restored.
Parking is on the side of the road near the circle.
