Buckstones Jump is a a lovely swimming place nestled in a lovely valley above Rydal. There is lots of pretty little pools to explore and swim in along the way to the main pool at the top. People can sometimes be seen sliding down the waterfall into the pool at the bottom, acting as a natural water slide. The large pool is shallow, getting deeper towards the waterfall, around it there are many places to relax and sit for an afternoon and enjoy a picnic with friends and family.
To get here the closest place to park is at Rydal Hall car park, around £5 for the whole day. You walk up the farm track to the left of Rydal beck which eventually turns into a footpath and continue along this for around 40 minutes. Having a map, or navigation phone app is best so you dont get lost.
Warning: Always be cautious of water depth when wild swimming.
