This traditional little old stone bridge is one of the most scenic bridges in the UK, and likely one of the most photographed. Nestled at the start of a lovely little hidden valley that has great views over towards Skiddaw Mountain.
There is parking just beyond the bridge on the right hand side.
Surprise View
If you continue just past Ashness Bridge a few hundred yards up the hill you will come to Surprise View that is on your right. This has very pretty expansive views of Derwent water and the surrounding mountains.
Parking is just to the right of the viewing point.
NOTE: Motorhomes cannot drive over this bridge.
